Irish art in frame

FRESH from a very well attending viewing in Skibbereen last weekend Morgan O’Driscoll’s Dublin viewing of Irish art gets underway at the RDS at 11 am today.

Irish art in frame

The auction of 135 works is at the Minerva Suite in the RDS next Monday at 6pm. The 1891 Yeats watercolour from the catalogue cover, illustrated on these pages last week, is in very good condition and has attracted significant interest, as did works by Donald Teskey and the recently deceased Patrick Scott, currently the subject of retrospectives at IMMA and Visual in Carlow.

The auction offers a cross section of Irish art from Paul Henry and Walter Osborne to John Shinnors and Felim Egan. There are works by Arthur Maderson, Kenneth Webb, Louis le Brocquy, George Campbell, Seán McSweeney, Gerard Dillon, Brian Bourke, Markey Robinson and many more.
