A fresh to market watercolour by Jack B Yeats is the catalogue cover lot for Morgan O’Driscoll’s auction of Irish art at the RDS in Dublin on Monday week, April 28, at 6pm.
Dated from 1891, The Young One is estimated at €20,000-€30,000.
Jack Butler Yeats’s Island Men Returning, is among the top lots being sold at Bonham’s salerooms as part of next month’s British and Irish art sale. It has a guide price of £60,000 to £80,000 (€72,500 to €97,00).
Also up for sale is a work by Paul Henry — Boats At Sea, which was finished in 1936, and which has a similar guide price to the Yeats.
The auction takes place on May 28.
The Dublin sale is on view at Morgan O’Driscoll’s Skibbereen offices this Easter weekend from noon to 5pm today, tomorrow, and on Monday.
Highlights include works by Paul Henry, Gerard Dillon, Donald Teskey, William Conor, and Cecil Maguire. Viewing at the Minerva Suite at the RDS is from 11am to 6pm next Saturday and on Sunday week and from 10am to 4pm on the day of the auction.
