Limerick poet wins award in Minnesota

Tomorrow she will receive the Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award for Poetry, the latest of many accolades.
On her way to Minnesota, she’ll stop by Chicago. In 1916, her uncle emigrated to the United States, aged 16. He lived in Chicago. He didn’t return to Ireland until 1966, when Catherine was a child. He walked in the passage of her home, near Patrickswell in Co Limerick, asking for her father.
