WALTER Osborne’s Sunshine and Shadow is the prime lot which graces the catalogue cover for Whyte’s sale of Irish and British art at the RDS on Monday week at 6pm.

This study on light, contrast and drama is a plein air painting in which the artist depicts a worker carrying out everyday chores.
