Charming pop-up shops
âAn international destination with an Irish foundationâ is how the Legge brothers describe Makers and Brothers and Others, the tiny department store, which sells useful and beautiful items online, via charming pop-up shops, and by appointment at their âshedâ on Abbey Street in Dublin. This is a well-thought-out website with some lovely short-film links. I quite fancy one of their three-legged stools, currently on sale in a range of colours, while the seat is gently dimpled. Now that is good design.

Raised by trolls in her native Sweden, before settling down in an English town, designer Sandra Isakssonâs invites you to interact with a whole village of whimsical characters who also feature in her prints and ceramic ware. Well, those trolls raised her right, as there is so much to see on this sweet site, including some great free downloads for kids and adults alike. Youâll enjoy the cheeky Blossom and Bill design on cups, tea towels and posters. Her new range of fairytale trays are made from birch, from sustainable Finnish forests, and many were part handmade by trolls.
