Stamps anyone?
It will feature Commonwealth, European, World and Irish stamps from the collection of John Luxford. This sale is creating waves in the world of stamp collecting and will be followed by a series of online auctions with more of the collection. Woodwards will hold an antique sale early in December.
Fonsie Mealy Auctioneers, formerly Mealy’s Rare Books, is a newly established company with a separate identity based in Castlecomer. Their next rare book auction is at Clyde Court Hotel in Dublin on December 10 and they will offer antique furniture, books and fine art at various sales throughout 2014. The December sale of 900 lots will feature signed limited editions, travel books from the 1600’s and 1700’s historical tracts and a real rarity, the first book written by Samuel Beckett when he was just out of Trinity and of which only 100 copies were printed. It is called Whoroscope.
