Antique furniture on the table
The sale, which is on view from 2pm to 7pm tomorrow, (Sun Nov 10), and from 11am to the start of the auction on Monday, includes the contents of a town house at Compass Hill, Kinsale and from a private collection in Cork city.
There is a 19th century Irish walnut credenza, (€3,000-€5,000), a Georgian Irish tea table, (€1,500-€2,500); a 19th century mahogany dining table with 12 chairs, (€5,000-€7,000); a 19th century foldover card table, (€2,000-€3,000), and occasional 19th and early 20th century furniture and decorative arts.
Among the more unusual items is a ship’s wheel and lights from the Irish Light’s vessel Nabro. Other furniture on offer includes a three pod dining table, a set of brass inlaid dining chairs; an early 20th century display cabinet; a London rosewood double fuseé bracket clock; a Thomas Hope-style giltwood wall mirror and a 19th century Irish longcase clock, (€1,500-€2,000). Art and Irish silver will also come under the hammer.
