My idea of misery is a world without jazz. To me, music is bliss.

The saxophone is the best instrument in the world. It has the ability to project thoughts and views which are completely individual.

Of course I love the bass clarinet too, maybe because it is so difficult to play and not so many people play it, but for my new work I’ve gone back to the saxophone, the music is more streamlined and the sax suits it.
