Georgian table

A large circular Georgian dining table, probably Irish, is a highlight at Mealy’s fine and decorative arts sale in Castlecomer next Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct 22-23).

Included in the sale are period furniture, paintings, silver, porcelain, books, Oriental art, carpets, clocks, glass and collectible items. The circular dining table is estimated at €5,000-7,000, as is a pair of 19th century Roman micromosaic circular panels.

Highland Cattle resting near a Loch by Louis B Hurt (1856-1929) estimated at €4,000-€6,000 is included among the 1,200 lots expected to realise up to €500,000. An Edwardian dining set in the Adam’s style is estimated at €1,500-2,500, as is 106 volumes of Thom’s Irish Directory from the late 19th century to the middle of the 20th century.
