Moone Boy returns to Boyle
The show will return to Sky One next year, continuing the whimsical adventures of schoolboy Martin Moone in the west of Ireland town back in the late 80s.
Yesterday’s activity involved shooting scenes with central cast member Deirdre O’Kane — who plays Martin’s mother — along with David Pearse and Bronagh Gallagher.
The third season of the comedy show will also feature the directorial debut of O’Dowd, co-writer and co-star of the programme.
Earlier this year, O’Dowd indicated he had written a part in season three for broadcasting legend Terry Wogan.
The realboyle.com website has reported a number of businesses in the town have received makeovers as part of the shoot of season three, claiming the cast and crew will be shooting for at least two weeks.
The website also features a number of Moone Boy-related souvenirs, including a version of the woolly hat usually perched on top of Martin’s head.
