Think Etsy without so much of the home-made vibe, this is an online marketplace that hand-picks products from independent designers and boutique retailers.

They’re not mass produced and many of the products can be personalised. Hey, who wouldn’t want their name emblazoned on a sterling silver chip fork? Is it too early to start my Christmas shopping?

2. Kirstie Allsopp

Midday reruns of Location, Location, Location is my guilty pleasure not because of any property ladder aspirations but the sizzling on-screen chemistry, reminiscent of Moonlighting’s David and Maddie, between head girl Kirstie Allsopp and loveable Phil Spencer.

While Phil has gone on to game shows and secret (estate) agent work, Kirstie has come over all crafty and wants the public to join in, her latest venture inspires us to furnish our houses for free.
