A 19th century Irish side table is among the highlights at an auction by Hegarty’s of Bandon in Acton’s Hotel, Kinsale, on Sunday week (Jul 21) at 7pm.

Among more than 350 lots is a collection of Irish 18th and 19th century furniture. The sale will include contents of Stork’s Nest House, Compass Hill, and some lots from Major Chavasse, formerly of Seafield House, Castletownshend.

Auctioneer Ted Hegarty has put an estimate of €10,000-€20,000 on the side table. A c1820 Cork secretaire bookcase is estimated at €5,000-€10,000 and a three-carat solitaire diamond ring at €8,000-€12,000.

There is an early 19th century Irish console table (€4,000-€8,000) and an Irish Georgian giltwood mirror (€3,000-€6,000). The sale will include a previously unseen sketch by Walter Osborne, 18th and 19th century Irish silver; an antique Russian silver tazza; a pair of Famille Rose vases; a collection of Meissen; a Meiji period ivory okimono; and a 19th century Chinese hardstone plaque.

Viewing is from noon to 8pm next Saturday and noon to the start of the auction on Sunday.
