Acton’s Hotel, in Kinsale, is the venue for an antique fair tomorrow (Apr 28). There will be 30 stands, with dealers from around Ireland, north and south, at the Hibernian Antique Fairs-organised event. Jewellery and silver will be a feature at Weldon’s of Dublin; William Harnett, of Limerick will bring antique furniture; Eily Henry has vintage fashion and accessories. Treasures Irish Art, from Athlone, will offer a wide selection of paintings, and Desmond Gallagher, of Belfast, will bring silver. There is porcelain, glass; bank notes and coins, books and many small collectibles on offer.

A Royal Irish Hussar red and blue tunic, from around 1910, is among the more unusual lots at the sale, at Cork Auction Rooms at noon tomorrow (Apr 28). The auction of 800 lots features a pair of watercolours, believed to be 20th century, of The Sirius, in Cork Harbour, by Geoffrey Evans. The Sirius made the first steamboat crossing of the Atlantic, in 1838. There is viewing from 10am to 6pm, today, and from 9am to the start of the sale, at noon tomorrow.
