Though it is recommended to wash your hands at least 10 times a day, to reduce the spread of colds and infections, a third of young children do not do so before eating, while 9% do not after using the bathroom. The research marks Dettol’s sponsorship of the ‘mother and baby zone’ at the Pregnancy & Baby Fair, tomorrow and Sunday, at City Hall, Cork, 10am to 6pm.
At Dettol’s interactive exhibit, children can use ‘magic’ gel to see how germs stay on their hands when they do not wash correctly. Dettol and E45 products will be on sale, with profits going to Barnardos. Experts will answer questions on health and hygiene. Tickets are €10 for adults and available at the door.
