More than 800 lots will come under the hammer at Kerry Auction Rooms next Tuesday at noon. There is Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, porcelian, silver, jewellery and collectibles including a selection of German war medals from World Wars One and Two from the Schleicher family, as well as a 1948 London Olympics bronze medal. The sale is on view at Moyderwell, Tralee from 11am to 6pm today, 2pm to 6pm Sun, 11am to 8pm on Monday and from 9am on Tuesday.

A pair of antique gilt leg side tables estimated at €600-€800 sold in strong bidding to an Irish buyer for €12,500 at RJ Keighery’s sale in Waterford on Monday. A pair of antique gilded and painted side tables made €1,250, an Edwardian longcase clock by Alex Gordon, Dublin made €2,200 and a carved Burmese cabinet made €720.

There will be viewing at the Fir Grove Hotel in Mitchelstown from 7pm today for the Edward Walsh Sales auction of over 300 lots at 2.30pm tomorrow (Apr 14). Prime lots include a mahogany partners desk, a pair of Victorian hall chairs, a Scotch chest, two Georgian longcase clocks, a Victorian dining table and a Victorian mirror back sideboard. There are clocks, chandeliers, a Victorian roll top desk, art and household contents. Viewing is from 7pm to 9pm today (Sat) and from 10am to the start of the auction tomorrow. The show runs until Sept 1.

The Euro in the art form of an IOU features at an exhibition at the Irish Museum of Modern Art temporary exhibition space in Earlsfort Terrace from next Friday. The I knOw yoU exhibition raises questions about power and economic dominance within the banking industry. It aims at an alternative model of capital that explores a new set of relations between knowing and owing. The 40 artists taking part have been selected from graduates at the Stadelschule Academy in Frankfurt.

In Birr, Co Offaly Purcell auctioneers will have a sale of rural and domestic bygones at 10am today (Sat) to be followed by an auction of antique furniture and collectibles at 2pm.

A group exhibition entitled The Absence of Realism runs at the Lavit Gallery in Cork from Apr 16 to May 4. It features work by Ellen Barrett, Alan Boardman, Tom Climent, Sam Curtin, Michael Gemmell, Carol Hodder, Roisín McGuigan, Jacqueline O’Driscoll, Charlo Quain, Wesley Triggs and Sabine Weissbach.

Hibernian Antique Fairs will be at Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, Co Limerick from 11am to 6pm tomorrow (Sun Apr 14).
