If you are considering getting rid of your old garden furniture because it’s looking weathered and worn, why not give it a coat of paint for a new lease of life? Another bonus — it protects your furniture from the elements. Rust-Oleum Universal is an all-surface paint that can be applied to wood, metal, wicker or plastic furniture without a primer. Choose from a spray paint or brush-applied paint in a selection of colours and finishes. From €10 for 250ml. Visit www.rustoleumspraypaint.com for stockists.
I love the idea of this installation at Brown Thomas, Dublin with Makers & Brothers, the Irish craft and design company. The four week pop-up shop which will be located on the Living Floor (Level 3), takes the form of the brand’s iconic headquarters, the Shed. Starting on Apr 9 and running until May 6, it will feature locally handcrafted objects of use that are simple, beautiful, nicely odd and made with love. A perfect example is this blue Ring Stool by Irish textile designer Claire-Anne O’Brien, €480. For more information on other events: www.brownthomas.com, www.makersandbrothers.com
Even though Easter is over, these cute hanging egg decorations could work all year round. Available in a variety of colours from Meadows and Byrne for €1.50 each.
Painter and sculptor, Raymond Kinghan works in ceramics. Featured on The Crafts Council of Ireland website, he has moved his business back to completely handmade pieces and his new ceramic work is more abstract and symbolic. This is the ‘Central’ sculpture, €2,300. Stockists listed on www.giveirishcraft.com
