THE last time an original work by Sean Scully was sold at auction in Ireland was in 2008, according to Morgan O’Driscoll.

He is offering another Scully watercolour at his sale of 226 lots at the Clyde Court Hotel in Dublin at 6pm on Monday.

Yellow Figure by the internationally renowned Irish artist is estimated at €30,000-€40,000.

The auction of oils, watercolours, drawings and sculpture offers a broad cross-section of work by artists are diverse as George Mounsey, Wheatley Atkinson and John Behan to Pauline Bewick and Brian Maguire. There is work by William Crozier, Henry Healy; William Conor; Grace Henry; Donald Teskey; Frank McKelvey; John Shinnors; Sarah Purser; James Humbert Craig; Louis le Brocquy and many other eminent artists. Estimates are from a couple of hundred euro up to €40,000-€50,000.

Viewing in Dublin is from noon to 6pm today and tomorrow and from 10am to 4pm on Monday.
