Wish list: Basswood bau pendant

* Gorenje, the Slovenian manufacturer has recently added Mystic White to its Retro refrigeration range, but this raspberry pink number is still my favourite. With ‘A++’ energy rating and smooth, curvaceous lines and an attractive vintage appearance, prices start at €640. * Homebarn.ie is having a clearance sale at the moment that’s worth checking out. There’s some quirky, cute, unusual pieces on the Irish site. Case in point, this rather lovely Regency rose teapot reduced from €31 to €19. T: 021 488 8811 or www.thehomebarn.ie
* Carolyn Donnelly continues her eclectic mission for Dunnes Stores. Welcome in the spring with this doormat, €16.
* Next has dreamed up some lovely combinations this season, mixing and matching themes; stripes with florals, vintage with contemporary. It takes a brave soul to follow suit, but look how pretty it is when it works out. The floral blind costs €48, basket pendant, €38; the chime mirror is €172. Accessories from €22, cushions from €16. The Monty Snuggle Chair in capri light natural comes in at €1121 and the stripe rug that pulls the whole thing together is €110, all from Next Home.
* Black and yellow is a colour scheme that works surprisingly well for a room like the kitchen, why not be bold this spring and try it out. The Jonosfär pendant lamp, €14, from Ikea will be a must if you do go for it. But don’t worry it’s also available in black, pink, red and green. But don’t rush down yet, they are not available until February 1.
* How cool would this be in the kids’ room? A Basswood bau pendant, designed by the geniuses at Normann Copenhagen. This is the large multicoloured one, coming in at 57.5 cm wide an 48 cm high. * Print superheroes, Darling Clementine from Norway and Ferm Living from Denmark have collaborated to create these to-die-for playful pillows. Drawing on the Marionette characters of Darling Clementine, Ferm Living has produced a set of four beauties. These cushions are made from 100% eco-friendly organic cotton. They are filled with down to make them nice and soft for the little ones. * Don’t rail yourself in with boring old coffee tables — check this one out from Aoki Interiors. A railway style coffee table with cast iron details that looks as it’s been ravaged over time — don’t worry, it’s meant to look like that.
