Scene and Heard

MUSIC NEWS: Beyoncé has bounced back after her post-baby break and has already been booked to play at the Super Bowl in February.

Scene and Heard

In the meantime, Billboard reports that the 31-year-old singer has promised she will release some new music before her appearance at America’s biggest sporting event. Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Amy Winehouse’s home in Camden has been sold for £2.8m, a million less than the original asking price. We’ve been mentioning Johnny Marr’s debut solo album over the past few weeks, and various bits of it are available for a listen over the interweb. If you’re quick, you can also go to Dermot O’Leary’s page on the BBC radio site to hear Marr perform a version of the Smiths’ tune ‘Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want’. The Kaiser Chiefs have done what no band should ever do — they’ve lost a really useful drummer. Main songwriter Nick Hodgson, above, took to Twitter to confirm he has moved on. Finally, a minute’s silence for Dave Brubeck, the 91-year-old composer of ‘Take Five’ who passed away earlier this week. He had visited Ireland on at least one occasion for an appearance at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival in 1991.
