Seven Psychos knocks ’em dead

THE Irish premiere of Martin McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths was the highlight of this year’s Corona Cork Film Festival. Seven Psychopaths stars Colin Farrell as Marty, an Irish screenwriter in Hollywood struggling with the script for his next movie.

Much like McDonagh’s great play, The Pillowman, Seven Psychopaths celebrates the art of storytelling via hilarious, if bloody, vignettes in which the characters give vent to their imaginations. Farrell is more convincing as Marty than he was as Douglas Quaid in the remake of Total Recall, but he is overshadowed by Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson and Tom Waits as a supporting cast of murderers and criminals.
