Space saving is a big deal these days. This company is based in Shanagolden, Co Limerick, and they make rather nifty fold away, minimalist, wall-mounted furniture. Have a look at the ironing board, it folds up onto the wall until you need it again. If I ever actually ironed anything, I’d buy it. Check them out at the B&Q Ideal Homes Exhibition at the RDS, Dublin, until October 29 at stand L48.

There’s a big push at the moment, promoting Irish craft as gift ideas. And sure, why not? A hand-crafted product using local skills and materials is totally the new black. You heard it here first. 3. Mod Mobili

This site was apparently established as a resource for architects and interior designers, but little old Joe Public is welcome as well. It’s Denver based, trying to rock the Rocky Mountain region into appreciating modernism. The galleries are a good source of inspiration with products from the likes of Kymo, Gervasoni and Prandina.
