Noel O’Brien, 18, from Co Tipperary, is a member of the metal teen band, Army Rising.

The teen's view

They have a recording contract with Rising records in England, and last year toured the UK. Does his dad worry? “I think my mother worries more,” he says. “She’s the one I talk to, and she tells my dad how I’m getting on.”

All the boys’ parents embraced the band, helping them out in the early days, and driving them to gigs. Now, though, all are 18 and have independence. Noel admits that they can be wild.
