Big interest in Morgan O’Driscoll sale

THE summer Irish art sale by Morgan O’Driscoll in Skibbereen on August Bank Holiday Monday is already attracting interest and advance bidding.

The wide range on offer is reflected in the estimates for the 160 artworks in the auction. These range from €100 and €200 up to €6,000.

The sale will feature two original works by the late William Crozier, long a local resident, as well as work by a number of other artists based in the beautiful countryside of west Cork. There are works by artists like Tony O’Malley, Kenneth Webb, Liam O’Neill, Graham Knuttel, Arthur Maderson, John Kingerlee, Ian Humphreys, Majella O’Neill Collins, Aiden Bradley and many other artists.

When Morgan O’Driscoll held a summer sale of Irish art over the August weekend last year there were local, national, English and international buyers. He is hoping for similar interest this year from local buyers and people on holiday in west Cork. The auction is on view at Ilen St., Skibbereen from 9.30am to 5.30pm from Monday to Wednesday, and 11am to 5pm on Thursday, Friday, next Saturday and on Sunday week.

Viewing will continue from 11am to the start of the sale at 3pm on Monday, Aug 6.
