Sweet sounds from the sea

Sherkin Island plays host to an innovative performance featuring a wind harp, writes Tina O’Sullivan

DRIFT is an outdoor music and art performance on Sherkin Island in west Cork tomorrow.

Mark Garry has collaborated with composer and jazz musician Seán Carpio for the event. A custom-made wind harp is the focal point of Drift. A brass band will perform in the quarry on Horseshoe Bay and the audience will be taken offshore on a ferry to watch the performance. Garry is an Irish artist better known for indoor art-installation work.
