TV: a dinosaur in a digital age?

THE winds of change are blowing through the living room. They’re changing the way we watch TV. You tape the entire series on the built-in digital video recorder (DVR) in your set-top box, then watch when you feel like it. Or you log onto the RTÉ website and watch it on their player when you get a minute.

You download the show to your smartphone and watch it on the go the next day. Maybe you don’t even have a TV. Maybe all of your viewing happens on an iPad. Maybe you just stream TV via your games console using Netflix.
