Private collection sale at Adams

A private collection of 177 paintings and drawings by Sean O’Sullivan RHA (1906-1964) comes under the hammer at James Adam in Dublin next Wednesday at 6pm It was put together over a period of 50 years by a single Irish collector.

Estimates range from €200 to €10,000.

There is work from Paris, London, Dublin and the West of Ireland, portraying cottage, mansion and studio interiors, landscapes, still lives, figurative studies and portraits of diverse sitters including Peig Sayers, Douglas Hyde, Myles na Gopaleen, Peadar O’Donnell and artists such as Maurice MacGonigal and sculptor Paul Landowski.
