What’s in my beauty bag?
Dr LeWinn’s Renunail Nail Strengthener, €28
“I have very weak, splitty nails and find this really good to strengthen them — it works. It gets nails into shape, it’s a proper secret, must-have product. You get loads in the bottle too and there’s a companion handcream that I like a lot as well.”
Tom Ford Lip Colour in Wild Ginger, €45
“This is an amazing shade. I’m a big lipstick girl and this is irresistible. It has amazing staying power and gives such a strong bold lip. Love it.”
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Foundation, €35
“I’m really liking the new Lancôme foundation. It will be released in February and there’s great coverage, loads of shades and no need to reapply during the day. Foundation is so good these days and for all the mad science we get from brands, some of it really is true!”
Creme de La Mer The Radiant Concealer SPF 25, €65
“A good concealer is something I always carry with me. You do have to be careful with this to avoid the panda look as it’s so pigmented but this is great for SOS situations and really comes into its own. It covers everything.”
Daphne Guinness for Mac Blush Ombré in Azalea Blossom, €28
“I really like this Mac blush from the current Daphne Guinness collection, it’s got a really cool two-tone effect and looks good on the skin. I tend to concentrate on cheeks and lips as opposed to the eyes.”
Sublime de Chanel mascara, €29
“You don’t necessarily have to spend to get a good mascara — some expensive ones are great and some cheap ones are fantastic too — but this one is terrific. My pet peeve is flaking but this gives incredible coverage, fluffy, batty lashes and it has great staying power. It’s really good.”
Trilogy Rosehip Oil, from €19.95
“This is a real skincare hero. It’s an oil, but doesn’t leave skin feeling oily at all. It’s so softening and is a real protein food for face. I have very sensitive skin and this really suits it — I use it at night, and when I wake up I really see the difference.”
Redken Nature’s Rescue Refining Sea Polish, €23
“I use filtered water to wash my hair to try to combat dryness and use a lot of products like Ojon Damage Reverse and Moroccanoil on it too, but one product I tried recently was a cleansing hair exfoliator by Redken. It’s a really new thing and I found it good, really purifying.”
Monthly beauty budget: about €120
Beauty destination: It’s got to be Monart
Gone, but not forgotten: No7 did this amazing waterproof mascara for about €7 and then it was gone. I really miss it.!
