What’s in my beauty bag?

BASE MATTERS: Mac Face and Body Foundation, €36

What’s in my beauty bag?

“During the day I want lighter coverage and so I love Face and Body. There are absolutely tons of shade choices — I have a few I mix depending on whether I have a tan — it gives a great sheer glow to skin and then I just use concealer where I need it. At night I love Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk.”

TAN FAN: Wow Brown Ready to Glo, €22

“I’m a huge tan fan and love this one by Wow Brown. I’ve basically tried every one on the planet and the problem is they’re often too sallow. I’m quite fair and this is designed for Irish skintones, it has a goldy tint to it and it looks natural. My skin is dry, but it wears off really well.”

SPRAY IT ON:Viktor and Rolf, Flowerbomb, from €84.63

“I absolutely love perfume and I love Flowerbomb! It’s totally polarising though — you’ll either love it or you’ll hate it. It’s über-girlie and I think men go wild for it — I always get comments and compliments from guys when I wear it!”

KISS OFF: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate, €6.95

“At the moment I’m loving the new Kate Moss collection for Rimmel. I used to be quite tame when it came to lips, I’d mostly go for eyes, but now I’m into reds and corals and pinks and I’m really liking the No1 shade, Kate’s Red. I wear it with a plain outfit and it looks great.”

BAT FOR LASHES:Rimmel Day2Night Mascara, €9.95

“This is really, really good. These sort of mascaras which do two things can be gimmicky, but this one is brilliant and it works. You don’t need two mascaras, it doesn’t flake and clump and you can layer it too. It’s definitely my favourite.”

WHAM BALM:Trilogy Everything Balm, from €16.95

“Trilogy skincare’s Everything Balm is great for travelling, the office and for your handbag. I use it for a quick fix on dry patches, on my hands, even on my hair to take down flyaways, it’s a real multitasker.”

TALONTASTIC: Essie Nail Polish, €11.95

“I really like Essie polishes and my two favourite shades are Pure Shore, which is lovely with a tan, and Brazilliant. You do need two coats, but it lasts for ages and the wear is good with strong pigments and colours that stay vibrant, they don’t fade.”

GLOW ON:Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, €42

“This is such a multitasker: I use the colours as shadows and I use it on my décolleté and on arms. It gives such a nice glow. It’s also great for highlighting on the face, and lifts your makeup. Expensive, yes, but it lasts.”

VITAL STATS

Favourite brand: For skincare it’s Trilogy, I love everything they stand for and the philosophy behind the brand is really nice. Rimmel’s my favourite for makeup — they’ve great fashion-forward colours and good prices

Beauty budget: I’m lucky working in beauty PR because I get things for free, but I still manage to spend around €60 to €80 a month

Favourite item: mascara, definitely!

Beauty destination: I love going to Elaine Butler Doolin at Bespoke Beauty, she’s absolutely amazing

Gone, but not forgotten: Benefit Flamingo Fancy — it was gorgeous and I was gutted when they discontinued it!
