It was never a real issue for me in the Hothouse Flowers days, I thought ‘it’s brilliant, I’m popular, it’s fun’. I think some of the other people around me found it harder to deal with. But what I did find difficult was that when I became known for being good at one particular type of thing, certain people close to me wanted me to continue to do just that one thing. I knew I had an awful lot more to offer.
One of my worst traits is laziness. I’m fine when I get into the work, I can stay at it for days. It’s the getting into it that’s the hard part. I’m good at making excuses.
