Lead character Eddie Spinola not only holds his life together with the miracle MDT-48 but his brain accelerates at such a pace that information processed at the speed of light enables him to absorb huge quantities of information. So he decides to play the stockmarket.

He soon starts to make lots of money and comes to the attention of media mogul Carl Van Loon who uses Spinola to secure a big deal. Meanwhile, the effect of the wonder drug is wearing off. Enter the evil Russian ganglord Gennady who wants all what Spinola has for himself. His health starts to go south rapidly before surprise, surprise, time runs out.
