Today, student, DJ and Big Brother 11 contestant Keeva Guilfoyle talks to us about what she’s wearing
How much did it cost?
I paid €50 for the jacket, €40 for the heels, €35 for the top and the jeans were a present from my sister.
What do you love most about it?
High-waisted jeans are my wardrobe staple as they are great for elongating the leg and giving the appearance of a slim waist. The jacket was a Christmas present from my mother.
Your fashion icon?
It has to be Grace Jones — a revolutionary fashionista who made androgynous fashion sexy, chic and cool. I also love Roisin Murphy for her outright uniqueness.
Designers you admire?
I think Joanne Hynes is one of the most gifted Irish designers. She fuses edge with elegance to create jaw-dropping masterpieces — the kind that give you butterflies and can send you into a shopping frenzy.
Last thing you bought?
I bought a beautiful red Chanel-style blazer with gold buttons from Om Diva on Drury Street for €20.
Your biggest splurge?
As a student, I tend not to splurge as I sometimes can’t even afford new socks.! When I’m finished my degree in a few months and hopefully I’ll be in a full-time job, there will be no stopping me.!
What is your best bargain buy?
I bought a gold vintage jumpsuit in Madrid for €10 and super skinny vintage high-waisted jeans for €5.
Where do you like to shop?
I love all the markets around Dublin like the Twisted Pepper on Middle Abbey Street. I also shop in Reiss, Wild Child, H&M and Om Diva.
Your biggest fashion faux pas?
My first day of secondary school — I insisted we buy black, shiny, slip on Clarks brogues to go with my blue, ankle-length uniform. I looked geeky.!
