About €275 and worth every penny.

What do you love most about it?

I love its old-fashioned elegance from the simple detail on the sleeves of the dress to the cut of the gloves and the hat, which was tailor-made for me. Overall, it lets me imagine I’m in the 1940s surrounded by glamorous ladies and well-dressed gentlemen.

Who is your fashion icon?

I admire the timeless style and smouldering looks of stars from the mid-20th century like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Lauren Bacall.

Which designers do you admire?

I don’t really follow any designers. I just go for the clothes themselves.

What is the last thing you bought?

Handmade decorative hair pins on etsy.com

What was your biggest splurge?

Probably nothing will top my wedding dress which I’ll be buying in the next few months. I’m currently eyeing up a stunning Manuel Mota design.

What is your best bargain buy?

I bought a cream-coloured embroidered dress for €5 in Penneys. However, pale colours look terrible on me so I dyed it Forest Green and now it looks so much better... and it’s unique.

Where do you like to shop?

I mainly shop in high street shops and department stores, but I also customise and dabble in dressmaking too. I buy a lot of materials in Dublin Woollen Mills and Hickeys, or take apart accessories and use the components in something else.

What has been your biggest fashion faux pas?

Anything I wore in the early ‘90s.
