Today designer Emma Manley (www.emmamanley.com) talks to us about what she’s wearing

How much did it cost?

The blazer costs €190, the jumper €165 and the jodhpurs €275. All are available to buy at Bow in The Powerscout Townhouse, Dublin.

What do you love most about it?

It’s the perfect ‘go to’ outfit. It’s comfortable and classy for work. If I just throw on a pair of heels and take off the jacket, it takes me to after-work events.

Who is your fashion icon?

I adore Chloë Sevigny. Her style is always original and completely achievable.

Which designers do you admire?

Stella McCartney — she designs for real women; Erdem — his S/S11 collection is breath-taking; Mary Katrantzou — keep an eye out for this newcomer, she’s something very special, and VPL — their underwear as outerwear is a must.

What is the last thing you bought?

A horse print shirt from Zara. I’m more than in love with it.

What was your biggest splurge?

My new Tom Ford glasses. I adore them and I think that’s important when it’s something you wear every day.

What is your best bargain buy?

A vintage Astrakhan fur coat I found at Spitalfields market. The coat was in need of some TLC so the stall owner agreed to give it to me for a discounted price only because she knew I was handy with a needle and thread and would give it the love and care it deserved.

Where do you like to shop?

Places where you can find something a little more unique — boutiques, vintage stores and flea markets.

What has been your biggest fashion faux pas?

A see-through Calvin Klein rain mac that came as a freebie with perfume — it was more like a body bag though. It was horrific but I thought it was beyond cool.
