Threat to kill security guard
A young man who was with him threatened to kill a security guard at Mahon Point shopping centre during the same incident.
That was the evidence given at Cork District Court by security officer Krzysztof Nosek.
One of the two men involved in the incident was sentenced to two months in prison in his absence.
The case went ahead without Martin McDonagh, aged 19, of 1 Inchera Close, Mahon, Cork, and he was convicted of engaging in threatening behaviour at the centre on December 4, 2014.

Mr Nosek said Martin McDonagh was the man who made threats directly to him to kill him.
The security guard said the man with McDonagh made threats to customers in the area at the time.
There was no case listed against that man at Cork District Court yesterday.
Mr Nosek said
when he first approached them McDonagh responded by ignoring him and then verbally abusing him.
“He went very angry. He started threatening me. He said on several occasions he was going to kill me,” Mr Nosek testified.
The man with McDonagh turned to customers in the food emporium and said he was going to smash their heads. “He said there will be blood everywhere,” the witness said.
Garda Ger O’Leary said he arrived at 8.45pm and the two men were sitting on seating and refusing to leave.
“We got them out of their seats. There was an air of aggression from both men. Martin McDonagh told us to fuck off, that they had done nothing wrong,” said Garda O’Leary.
Shane Collins-Daly solicitor for McDonagh, said that there was ongoing mediation between management of the centre, community guards and the defendant and others in an effort to resolve issues in relation to their attendance at Mahon Point shopping centre in the future.
