Bud app gives pint lovers the chills

BRRRR... it’s cold outside.

Bud app gives pint lovers the chills

Not really. In fact, it’s cold inside, at least for imbibers of Budweiser beer.

The company has just launched what it calls the Budweiser Ice Cold Index, the idea being that the hotter the day the less you pay for a pint of Budweiser Ice Cold.

The index app can be downloaded free on most smart phones.

“Through Index, Budweiser Ice Cold has created an unmissable summer experience by matching real Irish temperatures to the offers Irish consumers receive off their pint,” the company said.

“By downloading the Budweiser Ice Cold mobile app, consumers can avail of these offers from today until August 31 and to celebrate the launch of Index everyone who downloads the app will enjoy their first pint of Budweiser Ice Cold free, regardless of the weather.”

The Budweiser Ice Cold Index means that on days reaching 20C and over, consumers will enjoy a free pint. At participating pubs there will be €2 off when it’s 18C or 19C outside, and €1 off for 16C or 17C weather.

“You can check the day’s offer via the app which will update you on the temperature of your region each day at 1pm,” the company said.

To kick off the Index summer, Budweiser Ice Cold created a free pop-up urban beach experience in Dublin City Centre. Passersby were stopped in their tracks at lunchtime by a beach at George’s Dock, IFSC, which included deck chairs, a hog on a spit, ice-cream van, a live acoustic performance by Sligo band Túcan, and an exhibition match by the Irish volleyball team.
