While some of their friends could spend as much as €2 for a muffin at the school canteen, the boys can happily tuck into their homemade muffins safe in the knowledge that their pocket money can be spent elsewhere.

“Hide fruit and veg, or die trying” is one of my main mottos when I cook food for my family. 

It’s due in part to one of the boys having sensory issues with food, but of course I have a drive to make sure that they are well-fed and get enough protein and fibre, etc.
