Forty global food leaders have signed a shared declaration of intent to support regenerative agriculture.

Among the organisations were Carlsberg, Diageo, FrieslandCampina, and Mondelez, which have signed a shared declaration of intent in support of the SAI Platform’s Regenerating Together Programme (RTP) ahead of its upcoming launch.

The declaration recognises that the challenges facing food systems, including climate change, biodiversity loss, soil degradation, water stress and pressure on farmer livelihoods, are deeply interconnected.

It also acknowledges that systemic change cannot be achieved in isolation, and that only through collaboration will ecosystem functionality, including soil health, biodiversity, water stewardship and climate resilience be achieved across the value chain.

The SAI Platform is a global non-profit membership network that contains more than 190 members worldwide, and brings together companies across the agricultural value chain to advance sustainable agriculture through pre-competitive collaboration.

The RTP aims to provide a structured, practical framework designed to help the global good and beverage supply chain transition to regenerative agriculture. Developed with input from farmers, agronomists, NGOs and academia, the programme establishes a set of shared impact areas, outcomes and indicators, while allowing flexibility for local adaptation.

Through participation in the Programme, signatories are committing to working collectively to support the transition towards regenerative agriculture in ways that are credible, scalable, and grounded in real-world farming contexts.

SAI Platform plans to host the public launch of the next phase of the Regenerating Together Programme in June 2026 at its upcoming Annual Event in Saskatoon, Canada.

Director General at SAI Platform, Dionys Forster, said: “Securing this level of support is a pivotal moment in moving regenerative agriculture from ambition to action. The breadth and calibre of signatories are a clear signal that the industry is ready to leave fragmented approaches behind and work together towards meaningful change.

“The Regenerating Together Programme is designed to bring the industry together on regenerative agriculture, but critically also flexible enough to take into account local farming contexts.

By aligning on clear outcomes and indicators, this declaration lays the groundwork for progress that is collaborative, measurable and scalable, helping to protect and strengthen agricultural systems for years to come.

Global Head of Sustainability & ESG, Carlsberg Group, Simon Boas Hoffmeyer, said: "To create and scale resilient agricultural supply chains, we need alignment and collaboration - not isolated efforts.

The shared framework and common standards of SAI Platform's Regenerating Together Programme offer consistency and credibility, while being practical for farmers and suppliers to engage. We look forward to championing this approach with our partners and suppliers.”
