70-acre South Tipperary holding guiding at €15k-€20k/ac

Some of the quality lands for auction at Slievenamon Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary.
Coming up for public auction on Thursday, September 25, is a 70-acre holding at Lisronagh, approximately 6km north of Clonmel.
The auction takes place at the Slievenamon Golf Club — a very fitting location as this piece of pristine grassland was formerly part of the golf course (the club is currently closed with no memberships renewed).
“The lands are all currently under grass and are of excellent quality,” says selling agent Edmond Kearney of Bagenalstown-based Kearney Auctioneers. “The farm is laid out in one block and it’s ideally located in the Golden Vale in South Tipperary.”
The substantial size of the holding is a strong attraction, as is the quality of the lands. In the immediate area, with Coolmore Stud on one side and a dairy operation on the other.
As with all auctions, it’s difficult to gauge just how much interest there will be until the day itself arrives. So far, there has been no shortage of enquiries, according to Edmond:
“We’d expect in the region of €15,000 to €20,000 per acre,” he says. “That’s a realistic expectation given the way that land prices are at the moment.”
