There is expected to be a healthy level of interest for a smallholding of 13 acres overlooking and just outside the small town of Tallow in West Waterford.

The property is in the townland of Kilmore East and its convenient roadside location, along with its quality, should make it an attractive prospect for a number of farmers in the area.

“It consists of just one level field — it’s like a jewel,” says selling agent Éamonn O’Brien of CCM Property.

“It’s in a nice position overlooking Tallow. There should be plenty of competing farmers for it — we only cut silage on it last week.”

The land is being sold by a retiring couple and will make a very manageable addition to any working farm.

“It’s got plenty of road frontage on it,” adds Éamonn. “It’s guiding at around €15,000/acre.

"There are no outbuildings with it but, based on what’s been happening in that part of Waterford, it would seem to be a modest price; which is an unusual thing to say in the current climate of high prices and the challenging year that it has been for farming.”
