11.5-acre smallholding outside Cork City expected to fetch over €350,000

Selling agent John Hodnett of Clonakilty-based Hodnett Forde Property Services said the 11.5-acre holding has road frontage on its southern boundary.
A smallholding close to the erstwhile village of Ballincollig (which, since June 2019, is an integral part of Cork City) is receiving a lot of attention from the local market, according to the selling agent John Hodnett of Clonakilty-based Hodnett Forde Property Services.
“It’s nice quality farmland,” says John, “It’s currently used for grazing and there’s a new three-bay farm building on it which measures 45 by 45 feet. It’s of excellent quality.”
The property is located in the townland of Ballyburden More and its size and convenience will suit a number of potentially interested parties.
“It’s a great opportunity for a hobby farmer or for somebody intending, maybe, to go into an organic enterprise,” says John. “It has road frontage on its southern boundary and an electricity supply is adjacent… there’s very good interest in it and it’s currently under offer… smallholdings of this nature are always an attraction.”
Although he is not revealing the level of the offer, the price guide is between €350,000 and €400,000 (€30,000 to €35,000/acre) and the agents expect to conclude the sale of this attractive 11.5-acre farm within the next two weeks.
