Increasing protein production in European countries “should be priority” for the next Common Agricultural Policy, according to European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski.

He told reporters in Genk, Belgium, recently that member states are eager for a new EU protein strategy to be established, to support expanded production of proteins for both human and animal consumption.
