World's biggest four-rotor rake is on the way
The rake is centred around the 'V-frame' concept, which has been adapted from the world’s largest centre six-rotor rake, the Swadro TC 2000.
The world's largest four-rotor rake - the new Krone Swadro TC 1570 - is due to land in Ireland before the end of the month.
Farmhand, Krone's Irish distributor, told the that it plans to demo the rake alongside the BiG X 980, before loaning it to a customer for first-cut.
The New Krone Swadro TC 1570 boasts a high-acreage output, extremely quiet running and maximum operator comfort.
The rake is centred around the 'V-frame' concept, which has been adapted from the world’s largest centre six-rotor rake, the Swadro TC 2000.
It gives the machine a flexible working width of up to 15.7m.
Yet, despite its size on the ground, the rake's main frame is hydraulically adjustable, allowing for a transport height under 4m without the need to fold down the tine arms.
The entire machine can also be operated from the tractor cab via an ISOBUS-compatible terminal or in combination with an ISOBUS joystick, and lifting and lowering can be fully automated with the aid of GPS positioning.
The machine's working width can be variably adjusted from 11m to 15.7m, and the two outriggers can be retracted and extended independently of each other to suit field corners and obstacles.
With 15 tine arms on each rotor, each with four tines on the front and five tines on the rear rotors, the machine allows work quality to be maintained at higher driving speeds.
The outriggers are each supported by a wheel in the front area, enabling quiet running, especially at high speeds and during fast turning on the headland. The hydraulically adjustable outrigger arms of the rear rotors mean that swaths can be produced with widths of 1.40m to 2.90m.
In addition to the V-frame concept, integrated vibration damping also ensures that the machine runs smoothly in the headland position.
A soft–down automatic lowering mechanism ensures that the outrigger arms are decelerated just before the rotors touch down, ensuring that they land gently on the ground. This protects both the machine and the grass, while also minimising the turning time at the headland.
With electrical rotor height adjustment, the height of each rotor can be adjusted individually, or all rotors can be adjusted simultaneously via the operating terminal to suit the working conditions.
The Swadro TC 1570 is equipped with a category II/III pendulum-suspended two-point hitch to compensate for uneven ground and give the rake greater manoeuvrability.
Together with the gimbal rotor suspension pulled by the outrigger arm, the rotor adjusts optimally to the ground contours under all conditions – this protects the grass and prevents dirt from entering the crops.
