Hereford charity calendar raises €8,500

A calendar created by the Irish Hereford Prime and the Irish Hereford Breed Society has raised an impressive €8,460 for their 2024 charity partner, Children's Health Ireland at Crumlin. This sum will go directly to the charity, which is instrumental in supporting hundreds of sick children and their families on a daily basis.

Now in its fourth year, this year's charity calendar features a selection of winning photographs and drawings created by budding Irish artists who entered into the Hereford Charity Photo and Calendar Competition during the summer of 2023.

The competition was launched by Irish Hereford Prime ambassador Seán O'Brien, who was also on hand to present the cheque to Children's Health Foundation's Corporate Partnership Executive, Oisin Fahy.

Commenting, Tennyson Egar from Irish Hereford Prime said: "The Hereford Charity Photo and Calendar Competition is a much-loved annual highlight, which we roll out in association with our friends in the Irish Hereford Breed Society.

"Selecting Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin as this year's charity recipient was a no-brainer. The phenomenal work they do on a daily basis, helping sick children and their families, does not go unnoticed, and we wanted to help in any small way we could to support their tremendous work.

"Family is at the heart of Irish Hereford Prime, with many members being third and fourth-generation farmers. It was so heartwarming to see such an outpouring of support from our Irish Hereford Prime members and the public at large who purchased this year's calendar for such an extremely worthy cause."
