€15,000/acre guide price for Wexford land

Some of the land on the 19-acre holding at Foulksmills, Co Wexford for auction.

Coming up for public auction online on Friday, April 19, is a 19-acre holding in Wexford that should be of interest to a wide variety of potential suitors.

The property on the edge of the village of Foulksmills, approximately 20km from both New Ross and Wexford Town and its location means that it carries the potential for development at some point in the future.

“The land is one division,” said David Quinn of Gorey-based auctioneers Quinn Property of the holding which enjoys road frontage onto the village’s main street, as well as fronting onto the River Corock.

“It’s currently in grass, and it’s of excellent quality with, of course, the benefit of a natural watercourse… And, given its prime village location, part of the lands may have development potential, subject to obtaining planning permission.”

Foulksmills is a vibrant and picturesque village with primary school, church, café and pubs. The village also has an impressive historical heritage and highlights include the Foulksmills Viaduct.

The guide price of €12,000-€15,000/acre may yet prove to be a conservative one, but the proof of the pudding will be on auction day.
