Can I continue to access my field through my neighbour's land?
Right of ways can often be informal in agricultural settings, but the law does have provisions to protect both sides, writes solicitor Stephen Coppinger.
Dear Stephen,
In order to access a particular field on my farm, which is not linked to an access road and does not adjoin the rest of the farm, I have to travel through another farmer’s field. We and our fathers before us have had this arrangement in place for many years and he has never objected.
