Farmers, fishers and people in rural areas have been urged to be extra vigilant and take precautions as Storm Barra arrives. 

The exact impact of the storm is yet to be determined but Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue said it was important sensible steps are taken in advance rather than waiting until the storm arrives.
