IFA welcomes increases in lamb and beef prices

IFA sheep chairman John Lynskey said the lamb trade is stable with factories paying from €5.10 to €5.20/kg.

He said €5.15 is the general run on prices with tops of €5.20 paid. Carcass weights in general are 23kgs but some producers with quality stock are bargaining on this point.

Mr Lynskey said lambs are getting scarcer with the weekly kill dipping below 2016 levels for the first time this year at 46,242.
