That brings to five, out of the country’s 60 mushroom farms, gone since the Brexit referendum result drove down the value of sterling against the euro.

Mushroom farms are the “canary in the coalmine”, serving as a warning of how the Brexit currency effect can kill off Irish food exporters even more than two years before the UK is due to leave the EU.
