Featured on these pages on the edition of July 21 last, a 35-acre holding in the townland of Curraclogh near Lissarda was recently sale agreed, we have learned, for a figure in excess of its asking price of €450,000 (€12,800/acre).

The property was in a trend-setting agricultural zone to the west of Cork, near Macroom. The auctioneer involved was Killian Lynch of Macroom, and it attracted a strong degree of interest after it was put on the market on July 19, receiving its first offer of €350,000 very quickly.

The level of interest continued, such that the auctioneers decided to make a call for final offers on the property by the September 8, 2016.
