Parts of Munster and Leinster got more than two times their normal rainfall over the past week, bringing a halt to harvesting and damaging grazing conditions for livestock.

Figures from Met Éireann weather stations showed that, outside of Co Dublin, where rainfall was normal or below normal, no area got less than 122% of normal rainfall.

And deluges totalled 73.3mm at Valentia in Co Kerry last week, 256% of normal rainfall.
